For today class, 2 question that had been asked by Mr. Ahmad, many of my friends give their opinion to answer the questions. I’m the one that also had been asked about those questions.
1)How economies effect the ethnic relation in our country?
~Ethnic relations in Malaysia are complex, dynamic and fluid according to demographic factors which usually relate to spatial location and economic dependence of an ethnic group. The New Economic Policy was introduced in 1971 to reduce the economic divide between the Malays and the other races in the country by according them special rights. In my opinion, NEP has exerted major influence not only on Malaysia economy but on Malaysia society as a whole and it give a major impact for the Malaysia society.
2) How to get away from being prejudice and having stereotype to different ethnics?
~ Stereotyping is referred to as any theory or doctrine indicating that that action of an individual reflect on his or her whole culture, sex, age, race, class, or nationality. It could also be considered as a tool which people use to label others and then classes them into a certain category. The general relationship between a person who is prejudiced and a person who stereotypes is the fact that they are both mean spirited. That is, they violate the rights of individuals by forming perceptions about people based solely on their membership in a particular group. All races assume that, one race is a certain way and another is a different way. By going into depth into the stereotype and discussing how that compared with the way people were raise in the community. Truthfully it all depends on experiences and how that person was raised. Automatically a single person has the true choice whether or not they want to be prejudice or not or even believe stereotypes. In my opinion, people should not just automatically assume someone is stuck-up just because of their skin color or race. People should understand that prejudice is fear of what you don't know, what you don't understand. The world should be more understanding.
To the end of the class...Mr. Ahmad had giving some advice, he state that we have to watch our habit because it will becomes our destiny. Furthermore, to be a successful person, we have to find information and needs to reads a lot. In my opinion, knowledge is the food for the mind and soul. Apart from giving us the basic information about the world around us, it also provides us with the food for thought. It encourages us to think and it increases our hunger for knowledge and our thirst to learn more.
